Miles is a Good Eater

Vivienne has always been a strong eater.  But when we initially started solid foods (purees), Miles was not a fan.  He didn't even want to eat the smoothest of purees.  He knew that Mommy's milk was where it's at.  =)  Well, over time, he has developed quite a little appetite.  He is still very sensitive to textures and chunks, but he eats with fervor.  If we do happen to get a chunk of something in his mouth, he will usually gag it back out, only making himself vomit occasionally.

Also, Miles has the greatest face he gives you when he does not like something.  He tilts his head down and rolls his eyes up at you - kind of a "look of death."  I have got to try to get a picture of it.

The babies' solid menu now consists of:
  • prunes (a favorite!)
  • peas
  • sweet potatoes
  • carrots
  • green beans
  • apples
  • pears
  • mangoes
  • avocadoes
  • puffs
  • mum mums
  • bread (french bread cooked for a long time on low heat)
  • yogurt
  • rice cereal
  • oatmeal
We may be trying meat some time in the relatively near future.  I'm not looking forward to pureeing meat, though.  Ew.

  1. So glad Miles is doing well! I too am leery of pureeing a meat - it just sounds gross and surely will look gross. If you want protein w/o meat for now, I add cooked egg yolk to the cereal, and have also pureed lentils. Oh, we tried the prune/blueberry mixture this week; Claire loved it.

  2. Whew! Get ready for some fun diapers when the protein is added! I never really minded a dirty diaper... and then we added meat to the diet. Good luck, the kiddos are adorable!
